Regular verbs (ĐT có quy tắc) + ed vào động từ nguyên mẫu Ex: visit visited work worked watch watched * Đặc biệt : + nếu động từ tận cùng là –e, chỉ cần thêm d bake baked race raced trade traded + nếu động từ tận cùng là một phụ âm+y, đổi y thành i rồi thêm ed: dry dried bury buried nhưng: stay stayed enjoy enjoed
7. + nếu là động từ có một vần tận cùng là một nguyên âm đơn + phụ âm, gấp đôi phụ âm +ed shop shopped plan planned + nếu là động từ có hai vần trở lên tận cùng là một nguyên âm đơn + phụ âm, và có dấu nhấn ở trên vần cuối cùng thì gấp đôi phụ âm +ed.
