- Warm up - Have you ever heard a flying car? - Can you imagine and describe it? What does it have? Today we will listen to an interview between a reporter and Mr. Brown at a test flight of a flying car.
- Activity 1 Look at the picture and discuss with a partner what this flying car (or aerocar) can and cannot do. Questions. 1.What does this flying car have on both sides of its body ? 2. Does it have wheels? 3. Can it fly? 4. Can it take off without a runway? 5. Can it run on the ground? • Flying car ( aerocar) 6. Can it move in water?
- Activity 2 (in the textbook- p 53 ) Listen to an interview with Mr. Brown , a spectator at a test flight of a flying car . Is there a way to solve the problem with the car that Mr. Brown discusses ? Suggested answers: 1.I want to own a flying car like Mr. Brown because + it can both run on the ground and fly in the air . + It can help me to avoid traffic jams at rush hours. + It can move quickly ( = with high speed), . -I don’t want to own a flying car like Mr. Brown because + it can’t take off without a runway . + It can carry a small number of passengers , 2. Making it leave the ground like a helicopter .
