  2. A.INTRODUCTION Viet Nam has a very rich culture that has been shaped by many different civilizations throughout history. Through many long struggles, the Vietnamese have created our unique culture. Our culture has been influenced by many other civilizations: the ancient peoples that once inhabited the land, the Chinese, the French, and most recently, the Americans and Russians.

The Vietnamese Ao Dai history began in 1744, when Southern Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat decreed a front-buttoned gown and trouser to be worn in his reign It is a fitted, full-length dress worn over black or white loose-fitting trousers. Nowadays, the Ao dai is preferred by women more than men and you can encounter Vietnamese women in the Ao dai in every corner of our country. Ao dai, literally means long dress, it has long trousers and a two-flap dress with different colors and patterns. A truly elegant piece of clothing, it gives me pride to see someone dressed this way on the street.

In the middle of the table, there are lots of dishes and each person picks the good that wants to eat. Of course, there are some rules to be followed so these are some of them. Learn these and you will not be wrong follow ing the etiquette when using chopsticks in Vietnam.

The ability to maintain this culture should be emulated by other cultures in order to preserve history.
