TO + INFINITIVE * Function: “to” indicates the purpose : Chỉ mục đớch ( usually is used to answer the question: “What for?” or “Why” ) * Form: To + infinitive = so as to + infinitive = in order to + infinitive Meaning: để làm gỡ Ex : I learn English to sing English songs. so as to sing in order to sing

Unit 12 Music Language focus • To –infinitive is used to express the purpose. • To- infinitive can be placed at the beginning or at the end of a sentence. • “In order not to+ infinitive” is the negative of “to+ infinitive.” • Eg:1- We learn hard to get good marks. 2- He leaves in order not to be late for school.
