  4. 1) The past simple tense *Form *Usage +) S + V2/Ved To talk- about a finished action in the past. We often say when it happened. WATCH OUT: Ở thì quá khứ, ngoài những động từ có quy tắc (thêm đuôi –ed) ta còn có những động từ bất quy tắc ( chúng ra cần học thuộc) Sau đây là một số ví dụ về động từ bất quy tắc: Have-had Win-won Was : I/He/She/It + was Eat-ate I was at my home yesterday. (be) -> was /were Were : You/We/They + were They were at my home yesterday.
  6. Exercise 1. Complete the sentences with did, was, or were. 1.   7. Exercise 2. Write the correct form of the verbs to complete the conversation. Nick: Hi there. Sonny: Hello, Nick. Did you have a nice weekend? Nick: Yeah, it (1. be) was___ OK.   8. Exercise 3. Work in groups. Ask and answer questions about last weekend. *Survey: Examples: Ann: Did you have a good weekend? Bi: Oh yes, and I was excited. Ann: Really? What did you do? Bi: I stayed at home, did my homework, help mum with cooking and played chess with my brother.
  9. Then make a table like this to take notes. Name Yesterday’s activities -Stayed at home -Did the homework 1. Bi -Helped mum with cooking -Played chess 2. 3. Model report: I ask Bi what he did last weekend. He told me that he stayed at home. He did his homework, helped his mum with cooking and played chess with his brother.

  12. Exercise 5. Tell your friends what to do and what not to do at the gym. Examples: - Change your clothes. - Don’t talk loudly. Some possible sentences: - Pay your fee first. - Put on your trainers/ sports shoes. - Listen to the instructor carefully. - Don‛t litter. - Don‛t eat or drink at the gym.
