  1. * Chatting: a. What do we collect and recycle? -> waste paper/ scrap metal / old plastic / empty bottles and cans / waste food b. Why should we collect and recycle those things? -> to save money / to help the environment / to reduce the amount of garbage we produce
  2. *New words: - (to) represent: Đại diện cho - Representation (unc.) : Sự đại diện - A representative: Người đại diện - Natural resources (plu.): Nguồn tài nguyên thiên nhiên - (to) overpackage: Quá tải - (to) reuse: Tái sử dụng
  3. *STRUCTURES 1. It’s + adj. + V(to infinitive) + O (Thật để ) Ex: It is expensive to travel by taxi. (Thật đắt tiền để đi lại bằng taxi) 2. S + be + adj. + (that) + noun clause”. Ex: I was sorry that Mary was ill. (Tôi tiếc là Mary đã bị bệnh)
  4. * Pre-questions: + What is this? -> This is a logo “Friends of the earth” + Which organization does this logo represent? -> This logo represents a Friends of the earth organization. +What does this organization do? -> This organization shows people how to protect the environment and save natural resources.
  5. Ex1: Write the sentences with True or False: FF 1. Friends of the Earth is an organization to help people make friends with each other. protect the environment and save natural resources. T 2. Miss Blake asks the students to remember 3 things: reduce, reuse, recycle. F 3. Reduce means buying products which are overpackaged. not buying F 4. Where can we look for information on recycling things? -> We can look for information on recycling things by having a contact with an organization like Friends of the Earth, going to the local library or asking your family and friends. e. Why does Miss Blake tell Lan that we shouldn’t use plastic bags at all? -> We shouldn’t use plastic bags because when we throw them away they could stay very long and could not be self – destroyed.
  8. Ex1: Complete the sentences with the structure “It’s + adj. + V(to infinitive) + O”: 1. It / simple / use / computer. -> It is simple to use the computer. 2. It / easy / learn / English. -> It is very easy to learn English. 3. It / comfortable / fly / HCMC. -> It is comfortable to fly to HCMC.

They / lucky / they / pass / all exams. -> They are lucky that they passed all exams. 3. I / worried / we / might / late. -> I was worried that we might be late. 4. She / afraid / she / not / come. -> She is afraid that she can’t come.

  11. * Homework: - Learn new words by heart and read the dialogue again. - Translate the passage into Vietnamese. - Redo all exercises in Unit 10 in workbook. - Prepare Unit 10: lesson 2: Speak and listen.
