2. 8 Parts of speech (8 từ loại) + Changeable group: (Nhóm thay đổi được) Nouns (Danh từ) Verbs (Động từ) Adjectives (Tính từ) Adverbs (Trạng từ) + Unchangeable group: (Nhóm không thay đổi được) Conjunctions (Liên từ) Prepositions (Giới từ) Pronouns (Đại từ) Interjections (Thán từ) 2
3. Ghi chú: + Changeable group: (Nhóm thay đổi được) Bốn từ loại ở nhóm này có thể được thêm vào tiền tố (prefix) hay hậu tố (suffix) để trở thành một trong ba từ loại còn lại trong nhóm. Mặc dù có 8 từ loại, nhưng chỉ có 4 từ loại này cấu tạo nên dạng Word Form trong tiếng Anh. 3

5. + Unchangeable group: (Nhóm không thay đổi được) Bốn từ loại ở nhóm này không nhận thêm tiền tố hay hậu tố và chúng không thay đổi sang từ loại khác. Khi làm bài tập Word Form, ta bỏ qua bốn từ loại này. Trong nhóm này, đại từ có thể đóng nhiều vai trò như chủ ngữ, tân ngữ, bổ ngữ; thán từ đóng vai trò trạng ngữ. Còn hai từ loại còn lại là giới từ và liên từ trong câu. 5
6. Tuy nhiên, tùy theo vị trí và chức năng của từ trong câu, tám từ loại phải được sử dụng chính xác. 6
