- “Beo dat may troi” is a Vietnamese folk song. The song is talk about a girl whose lover had to go far away and she missed him so much. There isn't any fully research about the accurate original of the song but according to the information on almost Vietnamese websites, it is a Quan Ho Bac Ninh's Song Artistic characteristics The song's climax is when the girl staying alone at night, waiting for her lover. Even day or night, the girl keeps restless waiting, expecting. The drumbeat describes the time passed rapidly, makes the listeners feel emotional because of the lyrics.
- The lyrics of the song are very homely, close with the Vietnamese coutryside, using art imagines such as water- ferns, bird, fish, cloud, moon, wind, and so on. It makes a deep fond remembrance scene. The old countryside was described clearly. It feels like space and time mingled as one. The lyrical flows smoothly. Especially, the title "Beo dat may troi" is a familiar proverb which is often used on Vietnamese farmer's life. Touching and easy to penetrate into hearts is an important characteristic of this song.
- Beside the original song with lyric, Dang Ngoc Long musician has also composed a guitar solo version and it achieved great success not only in Vietnam but also abroad. In addition, this song was stored at German National Library and became one of a compulsory term of The National Guitar Contest in Berlin, German
- Dang Ngoc Long is a famous composer. He is the first Vietnamese wins the International Guitar Award (1987). He brought traditional music to the world. His works and transcriptions for guitar often mix the European modernity and Vietnamese traditional melody. It has been successful in Europe and many countries in the world. Beside showing through lyrics, he also composes for guitar solo inside and outside the country . “Beo dat may troi” is an example.
- When he was interviewed about the best way to spread Vietnamese music in 2011, he said “ In October this year, we will have a performance of international contestants and they will perform “Beo dat may troi”. They must prepare before the contest, subscribe and show us what talent they have. All the contestants from the U.S, France, Australia, even from Japan must perform this compulsory exam. When people exercise one of Vietnamese songs, they must learn the origin of all that. As far as I think it is the fastest Dang Ngoc Long way to spread the Vietnamese music to the world."

- In conclusion Quan ho is an important part of Vietnamese Culture and other countries can’t own it. So we must respect and preserve our national character. More over, we need to popularize it to the world, so they can know and love the culture, the people of Vietnam. It is also the way we show our love to the country.
